K-2 Book Week Character Parade

27/8/2010

Hi Auburn North,

Wednesday morning's assembly was a little bit different to normal. All sorts of weird and wonderful book characters were there to greet the students.
Can you see your teacher?
Can you guess the story book they are from?

It you are really clever, you may even know the author!
After morning assembly a mystery reader came to the classes to read their favourite story.
Who came to your class? What did they read?
After all that excitement we finished our morning with a Kindy character parade in the hall. Red Riding Hood asked us who we were dressed as.
We had lots of fun dancing to the music.
Thank you Mrs Saleh for organising the parade.
Stage 1 and Stage 3 enjoyed buddy reading. Some classes enjoyed reading their stories outside in the shade.
Many thanks to the parents who attended and for preparing such fabulous costumes for our students.
I can't wait until next year!

Mrs Clift

Hi Auburn North!
The Book Week character day was so much fun. I loved dressing up as a witch from Room on the Broom, but I don't think my nose was long and warty enough.
I am already thinking about my costume for next year!
Happy reading-Miss Paterson

Hi Auburn North,

We really enjoyed Book Week because it was fun having a parade.
It was great to have Mr Mahoney come to our class to read 'The Pirate Who Wouldn't Wash'.

We dressed up as a pirate, Donald Duck, a fairy, Spiderman, Angelina Ballerina, Batman, Ninja Turtles, Sophie from the BFG and a Princess.

Our teacher, Miss P, dressed as Pocahontas.

We loved all the people who dressed up as story book characters.

Bye for now!
