Book Week 2010    Across the Story Bridge

Picture
It's a new year, so there is a new theme; Across the Story Bridge!
The banner above has been designed by the award winning illustrator Kylie Dunstan, winner of the 2009 CBCA Picture Book of the Year Award, with her book, Collecting Colour.
Below is our very own Auburn North version of 'Across the Story Bridge' inspired by Rebecca Cool's beautifully illustrated picture book 'Isabella's Garden' by Glenda Millard.

Book Week 2009

We LOVED Jonas and his show 'Ghana Beat my Drum' which was performed during Book Week.
The students listened to Jonas tell his story about growing up in Ghana and his journey of coming to Australia. As you can see from the photos, the students danced, sang and played their way through the performance!
Here is what some of the staff and children had to say about Jonas.

'Very engaging and interactive for all involved. I was mesmerised by the sounds, the singing and the excellent presentation. The use of songs and repetition kept all children hooked'.

'It was a fantastic interactive performance that all my students enjoyed very much'

'I loved going up on the stage to dance. It was fun'.
