Harmony Day Everyone Belongs

Hi Auburn North,

Harmony Day is celebrated around Australia on 21 March each year.
It's a day when all Australians celebrate our cultural diversity.
This year, the Harmony Day theme Sport- play, engage, inspire recognises the positive influence sport has in our multicultural country. Sport, whether you play, watch or volunteer, fosters a sense of belonging, acceptance and an understanding of other cultures.

At Auburn North, we celebrate Harmony Day by recognising parents, students and other members of our harmonious, cohesive
community at a special Harmony Day assembly.
Last year, talented students from Granville Boys sang, 'If You're Out There’. Click here to see them in action and review our 2011 award winners. I wonder who will be recognised this year. Perhaps it will be you?

Mrs Daujotis, our Schools as Community Centres Coordinator, is organising Harmony Day festivities this year and has sent through some links for you to use at home, or at school with your teacher.
They look amazing, so enjoy!

Hi Auburn North,

The NSW Premier's Reading Challenge is a
challenge to YOU to read and read widely.
ALL K-2 students complete the challenge by experiencing 30 shared books in class, at home and during Library lessons.

However, if you are in year 3, 4, 5 or 6 YOU have to keep track of the books YOU are reading by writing the PRC number on your reading logs.
To complete the challenge you need to read 30 books by the end of August and enter them online through the PRC website.

Too easy!
Questions? Post them in!

Hi Auburn North,

Yes it is true! The University of Western Sydney'Bridges to Higher Education' Program is funding the Books in Homes program at our school for the next 3 years!!

In other words, every student, enrolled at Auburn North Public School, will select and receive 9 books every year for the next 3 years for FREE!!!

All classes have viewed the preview kit and have made their selections and we can't wait for the books to arrive later in the Term where we will have a very special 'Book Giving Ceremony' and a  surprise guest deliver our books in our 'Reading is Deadly' Book bags.
I wonder who it will be?

Click here for more information about the inspirational 'Books In Homes' program which empowers kids, literally!

Hi Auburn North,

Welcome back to another great year of learning and having fun!

It's a new year, so there is a new saying...

"Let's all aim for the stars and let's all become stars!"

What does the new saying mean to you?
How are you and your classmates going to become stars this year?
How are you going to get there?
