Harmony Day is celebrated around Australia on 21 March each year.
It's a day when all Australians celebrate our cultural diversity.
This year, the Harmony Day theme Sport- play, engage, inspire recognises the positive influence sport has in our multicultural country. Sport, whether you play, watch or volunteer, fosters a sense of belonging, acceptance and an understanding of other cultures.
At Auburn North, we celebrate Harmony Day by recognising parents, students and other members of our harmonious, cohesive
community at a special Harmony Day assembly.
Last year, talented students from Granville Boys sang, 'If You're Out There’. Click here to see them in action and review our 2011 award winners. I wonder who will be recognised this year. Perhaps it will be you?
Mrs Daujotis, our Schools as Community Centres Coordinator, is organising Harmony Day festivities this year and has sent through some links for you to use at home, or at school with your teacher.
They look amazing, so enjoy!
