Hi Auburn North,

Book Week is fast approaching and will be celebrated in week 6, ( 22nd-26th August). I hope you are as excited as I am.

We have some exciting activities planned:
  • Mystery Readers
  •  K-2 Character Parade and Assembly
  • 3-6 Character Parade and Assembly
  • Reader's Theatre Performances ( I know you are working hard on these)
  • Class Art Displays of the Shortlist in the ANCLIC
  • Colouring Competition
Parents, grandparents, friends and relatives are all invited to share the morning with us as we celebrate our shared love of books and reading ( Wednesday 24th August).

Who are you going to dress up us?
Who do you think your mystery reader will be?

Have a look on the Bookweek tab to the right to see how we celebrated Bookweek last year.

Hi Kubra,
Thanks for sending in your question. I'm sure there are many boys and girls wondering the same thing.

You could come as a fairy tale character such as Snow White, Red Riding Hood, the Gingerbread Man, a Prince or Princess, Cinderella, a Witch or Wizard, Goldilocks and the 3 Bears, a little Pig.

Animals are characters in stories. You could dress up as a lion, bear, rabbit, snake, cat or chicken. Face paint is a good option to use for animals.

You could come as a Karate Mouse (Geronimo Stilton), Wally ( Where's Wally), Jack ( I am Jack) Captain Underpants, Matilda, Mrs Trunchball, The Twits, The Cat in the Hat, Mrs Wishy Washy.

The theme for Bookweek is ‘ONE WORLD, MANY STORIES’, so think of characters in stories from other cultures and come dressed as that.

Have a look here for some more ideas.
