Book Giving Ceremony

Hi Auburn North,

Have a look at the photos of today's special book giving assembly.
Many thanks to Nicole, a representative from our Sponsor (UWS), and the fabulously talented children's author, Suzanne Gervay, for presenting awards and book bags to the Library monitors and competition winners.

I really enjoyed listening to the students' speeches about their favourite books, what reading means to them and for thanking Books In Homes for the amazing free books.
You are all very lucky students to receive this very generous gift.

Now turn off your computer and go and read them! ( I hope that made you smile).

Enjoy.

Hi everyone!

It is sooo exciting to be getting 3 books in terms 1, 2 & 4 which is 9 books each year!!! I was happy that we finally got our books today. Our school is so lucky to be getting not only 9 books each year, but 9 books each year for the next 3 years which is 27 books for every student that is in kindergarten to year 4 for the next 3 years and it is for FREE!!!! If you are in year 5, you are still getting 18 books for the next 2 years. when I found out that it was for the next 3 years I was happy for everybody else but sad as well because I am only going to get 9 books, but then I thought positive and said at least I get 9 books for free.

good afternoon teachers parents and guest
my name is alaa alfaraon and i would like to thank our guest for taking the time off today to attend this special assembly.
on behalf of the school i would like to thank the university of western sydney for paying a large amount of money for the books for our students. we all appreciate it.
also i would like to thank the books in homes program for giving everychild the opportunity to keep and read the books which they have cosen. i would also like to thank Mrs Gervay for coming to our school again this year and for writing another wonderful novel 'super jack'
i believe that reading is not a task which we recieve from our teacher nor parents but something we do for pleasure and entertainment during our free time.
i believe the pleasure of all reading is doubled when another person shares the same books.
reading expands our world and our knowledge on things and gives us an understanding of how things work in the world and around us.
i believe we must all read daily and remember read to succeed now and in the future.
thank you
