Hi Auburn North,

Who are these people?
Any ideas on why I might be posting their photos here?

Make a prediction.. do some research and post in your findings!

I think it is something about the book week.I found some information about these special people.

Susan Gervey is a book writer that writes books to stop bullying

Jackie Harvey is a nutritional speaker who share her interest and information on hormone health

Jeni Mawter is the author of the hilarious 'So' series

Chris Cheng is a husband, a writer, a teacher, an uncle, a godfather, a brother, a friend and even a pal!!

Hi Vanessa,

Very well done! You are spot on...although I'll have to check your information on Jackie Harvey.

For those children still predicting, I have a clue for you.

Use Boolean logic with your search words...

For e.g. use ‘+’ or " "

Please post in information you find and keep listening to announcements at school.

Vanessa, I'm very impressed!

Commendation time.

Mrs Clift

Hi Mrs Clift

After a bit of research, reading Vanessa's comment, and also knowing that book weeks comming up i think that Susanne Gervay,Jackie Harvey, Jeni Mawter,&Chris Cheng are all authors that write childrens books. Another way I know that these people are authors is because I read the book 'I am Jack' which Susanne Gervay wrote.

Hi Hira,

Well done.

If you click on the photo of Susanne Gervay you will find she is holding the book you read (2nd from the left).

I have also edited the title as I made a mistake including Jackie Harvey. Oops.

You have both predicted correctly. They are fabulous authors who write children's books.

Why have I posted their photos here? What reasons can you think of?
Why are they important to Auburn North?

Hi again Mrs Clift!

I just remembered that you told us that during book week we're going to be interviewing 4 authors who write childrens books and I think that we're going to be interviewing these authors....How exciting!

Hi Hira,

You are correct... but it is a little bit more exciting than that.

The big announcement will be made on Monday.

Hi Auburn,

After doing some research I have realised that these people are all Children's book writers and if I'm not mistaken I remember Mrs Clift saying that some people from our school will get to have a VC with these fantastic authors.

Hi Amanual,

Thanks for your comment.
They are all children's book writers but we will not be doing a VC. Great idea though.

Any other thoughts?

Mrs Clift, I think that the authors Chris Cheng, Susanne Gervay, Jeni Mawter and Oliver Phommavanh are going to be intervied at Auburn North. These authors are authors from childrens books. I think we will get to talk to these authors about books and their books on Monday August 16 from book week 2010 Across the Story Bridge. After reading the website you provided, I think that we can buy their books as well! There might be a tea party for teachers and authors because on the CBCA website it said that there would be afternoon tea at school from 3:30 to 5:00. Are you going to dress up for a Mad Hatters 'Tea Party'???

Hi Auburn North,

Well done everyone.

Chris Cheng, Jeni Mawter, Susanne Gervay and Oliver Phommavanah will be visiting our school on Monday 16th August from 3.30-5.00pm.

All students in years 3-6 and their parents are invited to attend this very special event.
Please return your permisssion note to your class teacher.

Have a look on the Book Week tab to learn more about these fabulous authors.

Do an author search on Library enquiry to see if we have their books to borrow(I know we do, but do you?)

Hi there

I'm really excited about coming to visit you. I already had have several lovely emails from some of the students there.

Hope you get a chance to read I AM JACK or SUPER JACK - there are some funny jokes, but more importantly you'll find great characters inside the books. JACK is my son. Nanna is the real Nanna ... and I'm the Mum. Hope you like the Mum.

love

Hey Auburn North ...
do you realise that tomorrow is nearly here ... and that means that tomorrow afternoon I will be at your school.

Can't wait to see you all.
I DO hope that you have been checking up on me (I have a blog with heaps of the latest info) and that you have some really grand questions that you want to ask me. I am amazed because this time two weeks ago I was in Los Angeles at a conference all about kids books and kids writers and two weeks later i will be surrounded by you all!!! I was actually giving a talk too!

see you soon - and i might even be able to tell you about my new books (as well as some of my other books that you might have) ... and don't give Mrs Clift a stressful time. She might be a super librarian but librarians are very very precious!

Cheers all
Christopher
