Hello Auburn North and World Cup Soccer fans,

I couldn't help but post the great news about the New Zealand 'All Whites' 1 all draw against the reigning World Champions, Italy. Wow! What a remarkable effort for such a small nation. In fact it is the country's greatest ever achievement in the history of soccer in New Zealand.

Not such good news for the Socceroos but lets hope they can improve- and keep their 'Kewell'.

I'd like to know who you are watching and supporting for the World Cup.

Who is your favourite player/ team?

Who do predict will win and why?

If you are reading this post and think you would like to keep Auburn North updated with World Cup news let me know and I'll organise a spot for you to post here.

Howdy Sports Fans!
Mohammad (Auburn North's Star Goalie) and Tolga (Auburn North's Star Striker) have volunteered to be our school's sports reporters for the World Cup.
The boys are dedicated football fans and talented members of our Senior PSSA soccer team, who are reigning district champions!(Go team!)

Thank you Mohammad and Tolga. We look forward to reading your updates!

P.S. Imagine if New Zealand WON the World Cup! Now that really would make the impossible possible!

Hi everyone,
I have been watching the Socceroos' games (at home) and was really happy that Australia won yesterday. But also sad that it wasn't enough to advance to the next round. The Socceroos are on their way home. The World Cup is a funny competition. New Zealand is undefeated but they are out, as well. The United States has advanced to the next round. That's the country where I was born. The US doesn't get excited about 'football' because they call their gridiron, football. And that is HUGE in America. So is basketball (the Boston Celtics just lost to the Lakers) and so is baseball (I love the Boston Red Sox). Yes, I am from Boston. The best city in America for sport.
Who will win the World Cup? I am predicting Argentina (or maybe Brazil).
