Hello Stage 2,

What fantastic work 4/3 R, Miss Robertson and Mrs Cheung did today in the Library!
This term they have been working on literary descriptions  and today they wrote a joint construction (meaning they wrote it together) describing the horrible Mrs Twit!

It was so fantastic I have asked Shihab to post it here so you can all read it.
As you read see if you can find:
  • a simile (easy peasy)
  • a noun group (2 adjectives before a noun)
  • direct speech (look for these " ")

If you are feeling really clever see if you can spot the complex sentences (look for 'which' or 'who').

Feel free to send in your own descriptions, or see if you can identify the language features listed above.

Hi everybody who is reading this,

It is Shihab and Kelefalah here.
Here is our description of Mrs Twit.

Mrs Twit lives in an ugly house with her ugly husband Mr Twit.

Mrs Twit carries a long brown walking stick that she uses to hit children and small animals. She has very spiky black hair which smells like rotten eggs! She has a long, crooked nose and an old, evil smile.

Mrs Twit is as angry as Godzilla! She hates children because she thinks they are germs that need to be destroyed. She is a mean, aggressive, sneaky trickster who loves to play pranks on her husband.

Mrs Twit's favourite phrase is, "You silly old rat!" which she always says to Mr Twit. She always screams at children to get away from her garden.

I hope you liked reading our description.

See you later,

Shihab and Kelefalah

Hi Gulalay and Mahin,

Thank you for sending in your descriptions of Mrs Twit. I think you are very clever to send this in from home. Well done!

Mahin, I really liked your opening sentence as you used lots of descriptive words and great noun groups.
...old, ugly,smelly house...
...in the deep, dark forest...
...evil, hairy, smelly husband...

Gulalay, I think your simile is fantastic!

'Her nose is as sharp as a Toucan's beak'

Your simile helped me visualise what I was reading.

Commendation time!

Mrs Clift

Hello everyone

This is my description about mrs Twit.
Mrs Twit has a husband name Mr Twit.
Mr and Mrs Twit are the two ugly, smelly, nasty, stupid people who spend their lives playing nasty tricks on each other. They really enjoy being cruel, mean to animals which they do by luring birds so they can be baked into bird pie.

Mr Twit is 60 years old person who's always going to be mean and augly. Mr Twit says that "the only cure for the shrinks is to be streched."

Mrs Twit is the augliest woman in the world who uses her cane as a weapon against children and animals.

They both live in the dirtiest house in the world.

I hope you like my descriltion about Mr and Mrs Twit
