Stage 3 have been watching the film 'The Little Fathers' by the very famous Syrian actor and producer Doureid Lahham.
Ms Francis has been working with the students on moving between languages and translating between Egyption to other Middle Eastern accents and cultures.
It has been lovely to share the Libary with the Arabic Community Language group.
Post the differences in accents you noticed here, or you can write a summary of the film.

P.S.Here are a couple of differences between my accent and the Australian accent!
What fantastic work 4/3 R, Miss Robertson and Mrs Cheung did today in the Library! This term they have been working on literary descriptions and today they wrote a joint construction (meaning they wrote it together) describing the horrible Mrs Twit!
It was so fantastic I have asked Shihab to post it here so you can all read it. As you read see if you can find:
a simile (easy peasy)
a noun group (2 adjectives before a noun)
direct speech (look for these " ")
If you are feeling really clever see if you can spot the complex sentences (look for 'which' or 'who').
Feel free to send in your own descriptions, or see if you can identify the language features listed above.

Stage 3 has had a whole lot of fun video conferencing between the ANTEC and Library this term.
The classes have been learning about 'Current Events' so Stage 3's very clever teachers came up with the idea to create a news broadcast that students would present LIVE to the studio audience watching in the Library!
5B, 6L, 5L and 6C have produced hilarious, fun- filled, action-packed news items including local, national and international news, interviews, ad breaks, fashion shows, weather reports, celebrity gossip, dance items and sports reports...to name a few!
6C added a new segment to their live broadcast in the form of the Biography Channel. They pre- recorded an interview with our Principal, Mr Harris, and included it in their VC.
The reporters (journalists) Noor, Mohammad and Gerald asked Mr Harris fantastic questions such as:
What's the best thing about being a Principal?
What is the worst thing about being a Principal?
What job would you have chosen if you weren't a school Principal?
What do you do in your spare time?
If you missed the VC you can watch the 'Biography Channel' and 6C’s interview here. (The link is FINALLY active!)
If you were a reporter, what questions would you ask Mr Harris?
What have you enjoyed about video conferencing? What segments did you find entertaining? What have you learned?
I am looking forward to watching 5/4 M's broadcast on Thursday and then 6T's the following. I wonder what creative gems they will come up with.
And that's all we have time for. Be sure to tune in again soon! I'm Mrs Clift Goodnight

Hello Auburn North and World Cup Soccer fans,
I couldn't help but post the great news about the New Zealand 'All Whites' 1 all draw against the reigning World Champions, Italy. Wow! What a remarkable effort for such a small nation. In fact it is the country's greatest ever achievement in the history of soccer in New Zealand.
Not such good news for the Socceroos but lets hope they can improve- and keep their 'Kewell'.
I'd like to know who you are watching and supporting for the World Cup.
Who is your favourite player/ team?
Who do predict will win and why?
If you are reading this post and think you would like to keep Auburn North updated with World Cup news let me know and I'll organise a spot for you to post here.
Last Thursday Auburn North hosted a debate against Blaxcell Street Public School. The topic of the debate was: 'The Future of Books is Bleak'. Auburn North was the affirmative team. This meant they agreed with the statement.
The great news is that our very talented debaters won the competition!! Congratulations Collin, Jamie, Noor and Tennyson. You must have put forward some very strong arguments. What were they?
The bad news is, according to our debaters, the future of books is bleak. That means - not great. I'd like to know what you think. Do you agree? Is the future of books bleak? Why? Does anyone think the future of books is NOT bleak? I'd really like to hear from you!!
Send in your arguments, or vote on the poll below.
Joke books are always very popular to borrow from the Library. Stage 3 were sharing some of their favourite jokes during Library today but we ran out of time to hear them all. So, here is your opportunity to post your favourite joke. No LAME jokes allowed!
Where do you weigh whales? At a Wailway Station!
Hilarious! This joke is one of my Dad's favourites. What is yours?
